North American Miniature Australian Shepherd

AKA: North American Miniature Australian Shepherd, Mini Australian Shepherd, North American Shepherd, Toy Australian Shepherd, Mini Aussie, Tea Cup Australian Shepherd

Description: The North American Miniature Australian Shepherd has a slightly wavy coat that is moderate in length. It has feathering on the back of its legs and a mane and frill around its neck. Its skull is flat and clean cut, and its upper jaw does not hang over the lower jaw.

Dynamics: The Miniature Australian Shepherd is an affectionate and playful dog. It is great with children and is courageous and very active. It is also attentive and is easy to train. This dog has to be given attention otherwise it becomes nervous and destructive. The Miniature Australian Shepherd is a dog that always needs to be doing something. Socialization is needed so that it will not grow up suspicious of strangers. The Miniature Australian Shepherd is not usually dog aggressive and can get along with other dogs.

Activities: The Miniature Australian Shepherd is an active breed and therefore needs to be regularly walked and exercised. This is a working dog and has to be always on the go.

Grooming: An occasional brush with a firm bristle brush is enough to groom the Miniature Australian Shepherd. Bathe only when necessary.

Other Info: The Miniature Australian Shepherd has a life expectancy of 12-13 years. This breed is prone to blindness and deafness as the gene for the merle combination carried this factor. This breed will be all right living in an apartment as long as it is sufficiently exercised.

Bull Terrier

AKA: English Bull Terrier, Standard Bull Terrier, Mini Bull Terrier, English Standard Bull Terrier, English Miniature Bull Terrier

Bull TerrierDescription: The Bull Terrier is a thick-set and muscular dog that is distinctive because of its head. The head is almost flat, sloping evenly down to its nose with no stop. The almond-shaped eyes are small and closely set. The body is full and round, and the tail is carried horizontally.

Dynamics: The Bull Terrier is a gentle but active breed. It is loving, loyal, and fearless, which makes it a fine family pet. But it wasn’t bred to be a guard dog, although it might protect its owner in a critical situation. It is very energetic, and is very fond of people and children. It thrives on affection and gives it back in return.

It may be too energetic for some people. It hates to be alone. While it is fond of playing and children, it does not tolerate teasing. It can be very protective and willful. Socialization, a firm training, and lots of exercise is needed for the Bull Terrier. It also needs a lot of attention and companionship, otherwise it will become restless and destructive. It can become aggressive with other dogs, and may not get along very well with other household pets.

Country of Origin: The Bull Terrier originated in England, at around 1830. Lovers of dog fights wanted to create a dog with agility and power, and bred the Bull Terrier as a result of crossing the Bulldog with the Old English Terrier and a bit of Spanish Pointer blood.

Activities: The breed needs a lot of exercise to exhaust its huge amount of energy. It tends to become overweight and lazy if exercise is ignored. The Bull Terrier has been used as a guard dog, ratter, herder, and watchdog.

Grooming: The Bull Terrier’s coat is short, and therefore easy to groom. Combing and brushing it occasionally is enough. Remove dead hair by a daily rub down using a special rubber glove.

Other Info: The Bull Terrier has a life expectancy of 10-12 years. It is a generally healthy breed, but is prone to suffer from zinc deficiency which is fatal. Health problems among the breed also include being deaf at birth, obsessive compulsive behaviors (e.g. Tail chasing). The Bull Terrier may also experience slipped patella, or a dislocation of the kneecaps. The Bull Terrier will be fine living in an apartment as long as it is taken outdoors from time to time and sufficiently exercised. This breed prefers warm climates.

Miniature Schnauzer

Description: The Miniature Schnauzer is a small and also considered a popular breed. but everything in them is in a  square-shaped  with long head, hairy beard, mustache and eyebrows and a well shaped black nose and a scissors bite. Their eyes are oval and dark colored that has a have an oval dark colored eyes with a thick and striking eyebrows and long mustache that when trimmed, it emphasize its square cut shape. Their ears are in  v-shaped and folds forward pointed forward and stand erect. Front legs are very straight together with the tail usually docked. Their coat colors are salt & pepper, black, white or a harsh black & silver outer coat with a soft undercoat.

Temperament: This kind of breed, is a very energetic, affectionate, and obedient. Moreover, Playful, happy loyal, alert, and likes children. Also a friendly dog. They are an excellent companion but, Zwergschnauzer demands time and companionship from its owner since they dislike to be left alone. They are a fast learner because they are they are very smart. While on their younger stage, It is important for them to be socialize with other dogs but, they have the attitude of being aloof with other dogs that would come their way since their temperament is somewhat uncertain. But they could also be a good family pet and companion as well.  They also tend to bark a lot, but not too irritating to hear. They could be a good watchdog too.

Activity: The Miniature Schnauzer enjoys a daily exercise, most especially joining in family activities. They are active indoors and also required to have a daily long brisks walks.

Grooming: This is very important to this breed their coat should be properly groomed to be in good condition. For good hygiene,his beard should be cleaned daily and make sure that the hair around his bottom is trimmed very well. Brushing the coat every week would be best for them as well. Schnauzers is a low shedder when properly groomed.

Health Problems: The life span of Miniature Schnauzer is around 12-14 years.  Health problems includes: vWD, liver problems, cataracts, thyroid problems, inflammation of the pancreas, epilepsy, allergies, and skin problems.

Miniature Pinscher

Description: The Miniature Pinscher is a small, pet-like breed their body is strong, firm suave dog and an alert dog. The muzzle is also strong and evenly balanced. Teeth are in scissors and They have straight and catlike front legs and dewclaws removed. Eyes are oval shaped and dark. They have ears that can bend and the tail is always docked. They always look clean and well-groomed. The coat short,shiny and compact that comes in red, but may also be black & tan or chocolate.

Temperament: The Miniature Pinscher is an alert, active, fun-loving breed. But they are also demanding and a headstrong dog. What is good about them is that they always have the courage, strong will and enthusiasm in everything that he do. They can be difficult to train and control so they needed to have an experienced owner for this. But they could also be positive and obedient as long as their trainor has also enough patience and confidence. Moreover, They could bark and raise an alarm that could make them an effective watchdog. They are an intelligent, lively and brave breed. They are also matured enough to handle things and responsibility. If socialized well, they could also get along well with other dogs and could adjust to people in their surroundings. And could get along well with other dogs as well as long as they are being taught the right manner to determine suspicious strangers.

Activity: They love to play around and needs a daily walk and good amount of exercise to be more healthy. Moreover, they are also good in climbing so owners should secure the place for safety.

Grooming: The Miniature Pinscher does not really require that much grooming since they only have short and low shedder. An occasional brush and wipe over with just a damp cloth will keep his coat sleek and shiny

Health Problems: The life expectancy of the Miniature Pinscher is around 13-15 years. They are a healthy and vigorous breed. Some of their health problems includes: luxating patella, Legg Perthes, skin problems, cataracts.
