Description: Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog is a working breed. They only have single coat that is tight and short,and comes in a pattern of black and tan. Their eyes is an asset through its light blue color or slightly brown. Their ears hangs just below their eyes and has deep, broad chest. Also, skull is flat and broad.
Temperament: They are born as working breed so they have already been bred to be an independent dog. They are also very dedicated to their owner but could be aloof with strangers. This breed is also known as “Catdog” since they have skills of climbing trees, they possess a sixth sense and a psychic mind. They are also very protective of their homes and you can never force attention from them just like any other pet dogs because they have their own set of mood. One should posses good leadership to own this kind of breed
Activity: This breed also requires daily walking. A run,hike or jog would be best exercise for them. It would also be fun for them to run in an open area but be sure it is safe for them
Health: Deafness and eye problem could be possible to them also has tendency to suffer hip dysplasia and gotten cancer for old dogs. Their life span is about 12-13 years.
Grooming: They don’t require a lot with grooming because they only have single coat. Bathe them only when necessary, nails be trimmed on regular basis.
