Description: Cardigan Welsh Corgi is one of the oldest known breed. They are a short dog with long body with regular body weight that has deep chest. And their ears are erect but also proportion to its size. Their eyes are dark,medium to large that is widely set with dark rims and not bulging. Only Blue merle dogs have blue eyes. Their nose are black with lips that fit evenly and have strong and clean jaws with teeth that is also strong with scissors bite. The neck is moderately long,muscular and well developed and very well proportion to its build. Its tail is set low according to its body and height and is carried low when standing or moving and set high when feel excited or alert. Their feet are large and rounded and in straight position to be balanced in its shoulder. Their coat is medium in length, the outer portion of their hair is lightly dry in nature but not curly nor silky.

Temperament: This kind of breed could be an adorable companion since they are an even-tempered. A very faithful dog to its owner also a devoted and indeed very flexible. An alert breed and never shy. Also, an intelligent dog and very protective too. But since they were too small for such state, some of them lost their lives securing the safety of their homes. They also have attempts to herd people through nipping on their heels. They are an obedient dog and willing to please and considerate to children. They would alsobark for some suspicious strangers. Therefore,It is also recommended for owners of cardigan to educate them very well of this breed’s behavior.

Activity: They are required to have a daily long walk and a regular exercise.

Health: They are inclined to easily gain weight so overfeeding is prohibited on this kind of breed. The cardigans are susceptible to PRA and glaucome.

Grooming: They only have a medium length water resistent coat so no heavy grooming is needed for them. Brush them with a firm bristle brush. They only shed 2 times each year and bathe them only when necessary.
