Description: Mongrel comes in various size and shapes. They come in different breeds. So their appearance also varies.

Temperament:
Their traits and characteristics will also depend as to what their parents do possess. It may be guard dog, herders, hunters or any combination of traits. As long as you know how to train them and deal with every traits they possess and what is important is you also know how to deal with them like in socialization trainings and teach them good manners and let them understand that you are their owner and leader.

Activity: Required to have daily exercise, walking, or jog to be more healthy and not develop bad behaviors.

Health: This varies depending on the breeds they came from. But usually they are more healthy compared to pure breed dogs.

Grooming: Also depends on their appearance and breed. But generally occasional brushing of hair and bathe when only necessary.

Dynamics:
This Mixed breed dogs known as vira-lata in Brazil and Dominican Republic. There are some of them who doesn’t have an owner and only feeds in streets, or on trashcans. But they also have talent when it comes to sports like flyball, frisbee and many others.

Lakeland Terrier

Description: The Lakeland Terrier looks like the smaller version of the Welsh Terrier. It is a squarely proportional dog, with an elongated head and strong straight legs. Its face has bushy hair on the forefront, and its teeth is either overshot or undershot. Its eyes are either dark or hazel, the nose is dark, and the ears are triangular in shape.

The Lakeland Terrier’s outer coat is hard, and the undercoat liner helps protect the terrier from brambles and bad weather. The Lakeland Terrier is usually born with a dark coat. At first glance, the dog looks as if it is standing on its toes.

Dynamics: The Lakeland Terrier is a very cheerful and affectionate dog. The breed can be a little feisty and willful, as it has a lot of energy to spare. It is alert and courageous. It needs some firm training so that it does not overrun you with its endless energy. This breed may also be very difficult to house break so a lot of patience is needed in training it.

Despite its stubborness to training, the dog is an intelligent one. The Lakeland Terrier loves to dig around and can be a bit of a barker. It also likes to guard what it owns, including toys and food. Its affectionate nature allows it to get along well with other dogs. This breed also loves children and likes to play. It becomes wary among strangers but gets along well once it becomes familiar with a person. Regarding smaller household pets and animals like cats and birds, the Lakeland Terrier likes to give chase. Training and socialization is needed so that when the breed gets older it does not continue chasing after the animals.

Country of Origin: Originally called the Patterdale Terrier, the Lakeland Terrier was bred from the crossings of the Bedlington and the Old English Wirehaired Terrier in England.

Activities: The Lakeland Terrier was used in hunting den animals like badgers and foxes. The breed was also good at hunting in water and uneven terrain. Other talents of the breed is watchdogging and tracking. It also enjoys running and playing off the leash, which makes them suitable for sports activities like catch and agility.

Grooming: Because of its somewhat thick hair, the Lakeland Terrier should have its coat cut or plucked two to three times a year. Loose and excess hair should be removed, especially from the ear passages and between the pads of the feet. This breed requires heavy grooming. It sheds little to no hair.

Other Info: The Lakeland Terrier has a life expectancy10 to 12 years, although some have reached up to 16 years. This is one of the healthiest breeds, having no serious hereditary diseases. The Lakeland Terrier will do well living in an apartment and can do without a yard.

Lagotto Romagnolo

Its eyes are big and round, in ca color between dark yellow ad dark brown. The head is big but proportional to its body, and its teeth forms a scissors bite. The ears are shped like a triangle with rounded tips. The coat is wooly and curly. The front legs is straight, as is the topline of the Lagotto Romagnolo.

Dynamics:
The Lagotto Romagnolo is gifted in searching, especially truffle searching, because of its good nose. It is also a hardworking dog, always needing a job to do to keep itself occupied. This is an intelligent dog, and it can get along with others. It can get along with other dogs and is a good family companion. It is loyal to its family, and is very affectionate and easy to train. The Lagotto is a very energetic dog that likes to play, too. They are especially good at agility sports. It also has a happy disposition and has the willingness to work.

Activities: The Lagotto Romagnolo is a natural when it comes to searching and retrieving. The breed was especially honed for the purpose of truffle searching. The Lagotto also loves to take a long walk. It also loves to swim. It also loves mud, and digging big holes so be careful when you let it out on the open.

Grooming: The Lagotto Romagnolo has a dense and curly coat so it needs to be regularly groomed. Bathe when necessary, but make sure to comb the hair on a regular basis to avoid the coat becoming matted.

Other Info: The Lagotto Romagnolo has a life expectancy of 16 years or more. It will be fine living in an apartment as long as it is taken outside for its daily exercise.

Description: Golden Retrievers are considered a very attractive breed. From their coat that is shiny and soft to touch, feathery and regular in length. The outer portion of its coat is water proofed and compact. They are a very strong breed. They are deep chested,has broad head. Their gait is strong and powerful. Their eyes are brown in color thjat has a very friendly expression and the nose comes in black. Teeth are in scissors bite. Their ears are like pendant clinging below their jaw regular in size. And has long straight tail.

Temperament: Golden retrievers are a very fun-loving,smart, obedient dog. They have a great appeal that almost everybody loves. They are easy to train that would not be very difficult for their owner to train them. When it comes to socialization, They are very friendly dog they love to play with children and they are safe with them because of their being so gentle and sweet kind of dog. They are very known for their obedience attitude. They may too be a good guard dog as they would bark loud to alarm when they detect some strangers around their territory. They like to be with great leadership people because they are a very active dog. They also posses some great skills in retrieving, hunting and they could easily detect drugs when trained.

Activity: They are very much required to have daily walk and a long brisk walking and jog. Also, they like to play with retrieving balls. They also love to swim and do some tricks when they are being trained.

Health: They could suffer from health issues like: cancer, hip dysplasia and congenital eye defects. Also skin allergies are very known to this breed. Their life span is about 10- 12 years.

Grooming: They are just an average shedder. They have soft and shiny hair so it is always easy to groom. Comb and brush them with firm bristle brush and dry shampoo and bathe only when it is needed.

Description: The German Wirehaired Pointer breed is a ruggedly looking dog, with a flat, rough undercoat. Moreover, their hairy undercoat is flexible for any type of weather compact on cold season and thins out during warm season. It means they could protect them in any weather conditions. Also, their tail is docked. They are deep chested but a very strong breed, muscular, firm and has good posture.

Temperament: This breed is a very loving, loyal, athletic and smart dog. They always show interest to learn things being taught and trained to them as long as their owner has enough patience and knows how to train properly. They enjoy working for their owner. They could also be harsh to strangers and friendly to those people they are familiar with. They must undergo socialization training at an early age for them to learn to adjust with the people around them. They are a very active dog and always full of energy. They have special talent when it comes to their sense of smell that they could easily track things through their nose may it be in land or water. They could also be a good watchdog with their energy and alertness.

Activity: They always enjoy roaming around. They are also required to have a daily exercise and a long brisk walk for them to regain their energy since they are a hardworking kind of breed.

Grooming: They are not heavy shedder breed. They just needed to be brushed at least twice a week and should be plucked with hands only on an occasional basis. Ears and feet should also be checked thoroughly to keep them away fro infections. Bathe them only when necessary.
