Cardigan Welsh Corgi

AKA: Cardiganscardigans
Description: Cardigan Welsh Corgi is one of the oldest known breed. They are a short dog with long body with regular body weight that has deep chest. And their ears are erect but also proportion to its size. Their eyes are dark,medium to large that is widely set with dark rims and not bulging. Only Blue merle dogs have blue eyes. Their nose are black with lips that fit evenly and have strong and clean jaws with teeth that is also strong with scissors bite. The neck is moderately long,muscular and well developed and very well proportion to its build. Its tail is set low according to its body and height and is carried low when standing or moving and set high when feel excited or alert. Their feet are large and rounded and in straight position to be balanced in its shoulder. Their coat is medium in length, the outer portion of their hair is lightly dry in nature but not curly nor silky.

Temperament: This kind of breed could be an adorable companion since they are an even-tempered. A very faithful dog to its owner also a devoted and indeed very flexible. An alert breed and never shy. Also, an intelligent dog and very protective too. But since they were too small for such state, some of them lost their lives securing the safety of their homes. They also have attempts to herd people through nipping on their heels. They are an obedient dog and willing to please and considerate to children. They would alsobark for some suspicious strangers. Therefore,It is also recommended for owners of cardigan to educate them very well of this breed’s behavior.

Activity: They are required to have a daily long walk and a regular exercise.

Health: They are inclined to easily gain weight so overfeeding is prohibited on this kind of breed. The cardigans are susceptible to PRA and glaucome.

Grooming: They only have a medium length water resistent coat so no heavy grooming is needed for them. Brush them with a firm bristle brush. They only shed 2 times each year and bathe them only when necessary.

Broholmer

AKA: Danish Broholmer

BroholmerDescription: The Broholmer is a mastiff-type of dog with a muscular body and powerful movement. Its head is wide, with a sturdy neck. It is carried high when the dog is attentive or alert. There is some loose skin apparent on the neck. The whole body is rectangular and large. The tail hangs down sabrelike but is carried high when the Broholmer moves.

Dynamics: The Broholmer is a friendly and calm breed. It has a good and pleasant temper, quiet at times although very watchful. It exudes great self-confidence within and silently demands respect. It is known to be a good worker, companion, family dog, and guard dog.

Weight: 87-1776 lbs (40-80 kg)

Height: 22-30 inches (70-75 cm)

Color: The Broholmer’s coat comes in yellow (with a black mask), golden red, or black. White markings on the chest, feet, and tip of the tail is accepted.

Country of Origin: The Broholmer originated in Denmark, where it has been used in hunting and guarding since the Middle Ages.

Activities: The Broholmer needs to be sufficiently exercised. It was bred for hunting and farm work, so it naturally has a lot of energy that it needs to exhaust. As a puppy, it is important not to overexercise the breed because it would cause hip dysplasia.

Other Info: The Broholmer has a life expectancy of 6-11 years. It is a generally healthy breed, although prone to hip dysplasia. But there is no disease that is specific to this breed.

Briquet

AKA: Chien d’Artois, Artois Hound, Picard

BriquetDescription: The Briquet is a moderate-sized dog that has a compact and muscular body. It has a black nose, round and dark brown eyes. It has thick lips and its jaws form a scissors bite. It has a broad back and a tail that it carries in a sickle fashion. The tail has slightly offstanding hairs towards the tip.

Dynamics: The Briquet is a brave dog that is full of energy and endurance. It has a calm and pleasant temperament, affectionate and sweet to people its family. The Briquet has an excellent sense of smell. It was bred as a hunting dog and is exceptional in hunting rabbits. It is fast, agile, and independent. Training this breed has to be firm and consistent.

Color: The Briquet’s coat is a dark fawn tricolor. Its main combination of colors is tan and black and white.

Grooming: Grooming the Briquet does not require any special attention. Brushing it regularly is enough. Bathe only when necessary. Wiping it with a damp cloth is a good alternative to bathing it.

Activities: The Briquet is a highly active dog and needs to be sufficiently exercise to avoid behavioral problems. It needs to be taken outdoors from time to time and given its own space. This breed is widely used in hunting, where it displays its excellent abilities in tracking and hunting down prey.

Other Info: The Briquet has a life expectancy of 13 years. It is a generally healthy breed. While this breed will do well in an apartment, it prefers to have a small yard or area where it can run around and exhaust its energy.

Carolina Dog

AKA: American Dingocarolina
Description: The Carolina Dog has a straight back and medium built similar to the appearance of a small dingo. Have broad skull that is moderately round that has a distinct furrow which extends through their eyes. Their head is triangular in shape, long and with a pointed muzzle with long neck with powerful jaws. They have large erected ears especially when they are alert, with a dark brown, almond-shaped eyes, Their nose is mostly black lighter colors only appears in white and cream colored american dingo. Moreover, like their ears, they have a fish-hooked tail that is carried in some different positions depending on their mood, positioned horizontally when alert. They have short and smooth hair especially on their ears,head and on their legs too and is straight and never goes curly or wavy. They have definite seasonal differences on their coat. The winter coat is heavier compared to its summer coat because of its undercoat abundance.

Temperament: This breed is considered like the features of a Pariah/Feral type of dog, In India, considered as a half reclaimed dog ready to accompany anybody for hunting. They are very suspicious to strangers since they are naturally aloof kind of breed but they could also be affectionate. If trained for proper socialization, they could also be a loving and loyal dog and could adjust to its environment. They also enjoy to be treated as part of the family since they could also be gentle and could be bonded with children and join the activities and play with them. This breed is not that aggressive by nature they just needed to be more on hunting instinct to get along well with other animals and be familiar with them too. Carolina Dog also responds well to a partnership relationship and they are quite independent as well. Although they are not that friendly kind of breed but when it comes to their family or pack, they are very loyal and loving. They could serves as their family’s protector.

Activity: They enjoy hunting and should be taken for a long daily walk.

Grooming: Their coat is easy to groom only occasional brushing is needed since they have short hair and smooth coat. Bathe them only when necessary.
