Description: The Maremma breed is very strong, has good muscular built, they have very thick coat, head is big with black nose and heavy in weight, They also have fluffy hair that must be groomed well. They have an expressive eyes showing their alertness and full of energy. Their ears are pointed and comes in v-shape. Tail is also hairy and set low.

Temperament: A very intelligent dog, smart and friendly too. They are very loyal to their owner. They are born hunters too. They needed training to be more socialize with other pets. They could be a good guard dog and not a barker. They are independent dog could work well and serious towards their job. As a leader. Owner must be firm in trainings with this breed and be more serious for them to learn. And it requires a lot of patience and should be an experienced trainer for them to be more obedient. They are very keen with strangers that would alarm them for some suspicious strangers that would be invade their homes. They are the best enemy of wolf but is tamable my human.

Activity: They are required for a daily brisk walk and jog in a large yard and also to run free. This is needed for them to maintain good behavior.

Health: No known health issues with this breed. Their life span is 11-13 years.

Grooming: They needed good grooming especially o n their hair to prevent tangles. Comb or brush their coat regularly. Take away all dead hair.

Lundehund

AKA: Norwegian Lundehund, Norwegian Puffin Dog, Norsk Lundehund

Description: The Norwegian Lundehund is a spitz type that cn easily be distinguished because of its odd charcteristics. For one, it has six toes on each foot instead of the usual four that dogs have. It also has joints in the nape of its neck, which other dogs don’t have. Other minor but extraordinarily odd features of this breed includes its extremely flexible shoulder joints and its extremely mobile ears.

The Lundehund is rectangularly proportional in shape, and is small and comparatively light. Its head is small The eyes are brown and deeply set, the ears are medium-sized and erect. Its legs are strong and muscled. Its tail is carried in a ring over its back or hanging. Its coat is rough and short, lying flat against its body.

Dynamics: The Norwegian Lundehund is a very friendly and playful dog. It loves people and likes to be close with its family or other dogs. It is also good with children. As long as it is socialized and brought up in a positive environment, the Lundehund will be a great family dog. It is also intelligent and can be very curious. This breed can be trained for agility, and it makes a great hunter. This dog is able to climb steep areas, thanks to its six toes on its foot. It can turn its head in a 180-degree angle because of the extra joints in the nape of its neck.

Grooming: Regular brushing or combing of the coat is enough to groom the Norwegian Lundehund. Bathe or dry shampoo only when necessary.

Other Info: The Norwegian Lundehund has a life expectancy of 12 years. This breed is prone to the Lundehund Syndrome, which is a series of digestive problems still being studied today. This breed is not suitable when living in an apartment.

Löwchen (Little Lion Dog)

AKA: Little Lion Dog, Petit Chien Lion

Description: The Löwchen is a bichon type dog, with long silky coat that is most often presented in a lion cut. The coat is not fluffy and thin like that of a Bichon Frise, though. Instead it is long and wavy, not curly, with a mix of thick and fine hairs. Its head is short but broad, and has black nose and round dark eyes. The ears are in pendant shape and feathered. The body is short as well, proportional, and ends in a medium-length tail.

The Löwchen’s body is advised to be clipped in the hindquarters, the part of the tail closest to the body, and part of the front legs in order to make the look of a lion to the Löwchen.

Dynamics: The Löwchen is a lively and cheerful dog. It is playful and affectionate, and are good with children and other dogs and pets. It is a very good toy dog for the family. It is also an intelligent breed and can learn fast. There will be little problems with its training. It is also fearless and can be aggressive for leadership, despite its size. But it can also be sensitive and gentle. Socialization is important, of course. This breed may like to bark or dig a lot.

Description: The Louisiana Catahoula Leopard Dog is descended from a long line of Native American dog breeds. This is a breed that is very varied in appearance, as the Catahoula Leopard Dog was bred based on its temperament and attitude rather than for its appearance. Its coat can be coarse or slick or wooly, long or short or shaggy. The color of the coat also varies. There is also no particular eye color for its eyes. It can be brown, green, gray, or amber.

They have short coat and very prominent in their rich mahogany markings and tail is in taper style. Their head is in wedge shape that is long showing a very energetic expression. Body is muscular, very strong that is full of agility. They are medium in size, ears are set high especially when in alert mode. Nose and lips are black with muzzle and skull in equal length. Teeth are in scissors bite too.

Temperament: They are an aggressive breed, very alert and energetic always. Also, very observant especially to suspicious strangers that might invade their homes. They are very devoted too with their owners and family. But they are friendly towards other dogs but not with small canine animals. because they have a hunting instincts. They have to be on a socialize training to enhance more their socialization. And to behave well an adjust to their surroundings.
