Keeshond

Description: Keeshond is a regular size breed that has double coat layers with a fur. They belong in the Spitz family. Their tail is curled and feathering. They have a balanced body built, square shaped. Their eyes is dark brown in color and shaped like almond. Ears are triangular and set high. Lips are black and teeth are strong and in scissors bite. They look very elegant and attractive with their hair and fur. Feet are round in shape and cat-like.
Temperament: Keeshond is very playful and fun to be with dog. They are cheerful. They love to be with children to play around. They are very loving, smart and friendly breed. They could do tricks if trained well by its owner. They hate to be left alone and be ignored. They are happy to be a part of their owner’s family. Theya re to a very protective dog especially to their owner. They bark to alarm that there is a suspicious stranger. Keeshond has a mix attitude that also depends on their owner’s training.
Activity: They are also reqiured to have a daily walk. They like to play and run around in a safe area. When they turn in circle it shows that they needed more exercise. These activities will help them stay fit and healthy.
Health: They could suffer from hip dysplasia, heart disease and skin problems like allergies. Their life span is about 12-15 years.
Grooming: Brushing their hair is very important to untangle and to maintain its smoothness and puffiness of their coat. Bathe them only when necessary.

Height: Dogs 17-19 inches (44-48cm.) Bitches are 10% less.
Weight: some sources: 55-66 pounds (25-30kg.)

Dynamics: Originally they came from Chow Chow, Spitz, Samoyed breed. They are a born watcher. They became popular in Holland in 1700′s. Their name keeshond was originated in england known as a Dutch Barge Dog.
