Lagotto Romagnolo

AKA: Water Dog of Romagna, Romagna Water Dog

660px-Lagotto_romagnolo_322Description: The Lagotto Romagnolo, or just Lagotto, is a small- to medium-sized dog with a squarely proportional body. Its eyes are big and round, in ca color between dark yellow ad dark brown. The head is big but proportional to its body, and its teeth forms a scissors bite. The ears are shped like a triangle with rounded tips. The coat is wooly and curly. The front legs is straight, as is the topline of the Lagotto Romagnolo.

Dynamics:
The Lagotto Romagnolo is gifted in searching, especially truffle searching, because of its good nose. It is also a hardworking dog, always needing a job to do to keep itself occupied. This is an intelligent dog, and it can get along with others. It can get along with other dogs and is a good family companion. It is loyal to its family, and is very affectionate and easy to train. The Lagotto is a very energetic dog that likes to play, too. They are especially good at agility sports. It also has a happy disposition and has the willingness to work.

Weight: Male 28-35 pounds (13-16 kg.) Female 5-6.5 pounds (11-14 kg.)

Height: Male 17-19 inches (43-49 cm.) Female 14-16 inches (36-41cm.)

Color: The Lagotto can be off-white, solid white, or white with brown or rust patches. It can also be brown or rust-colored, and a brown mask is also common.

Country of Origin: The Lagotto Romagonolo belongs to an ancient breed from Italy, in the lowlands of Comacchio and the marshlands of Ravenna.

Activities: The Lagotto Romagnolo is a natural when it comes to searching and retrieving. The breed was especially honed for the purpose of truffle searching. The Lagotto also loves to take a long walk. It also loves to swim. It also loves mud, and digging big holes so be careful when you let it out on the open.

Grooming: The Lagotto Romagnolo has a dense and curly coat so it needs to be regularly groomed. Bathe when necessary, but make sure to comb the hair on a regular basis to avoid the coat becoming matted.

Other Info: The Lagotto Romagnolo has a life expectancy of 16 years or more. It will be fine living in an apartment as long as it is taken outside for its daily exercise.

Kangal Dog

Description: Kangal Dog is a well muscled strong kind of breed. Their name Karabash means black head since they look like they have a black mask on their face. They have a big size head and proportioned body. Their ears are dropped down and tail is curled. Their coat is double that is regular in length and compact.

Temperament: This breed is a territorial dog. They tend to be alert as always especially with some suspicious strangers that they can sense. They are very aggressive breed. But if they are trained well, they could also be an obedient, well-behaved dog. They possess a certain speed and power to block threats to a group of sheep and goats that is guarding the turkey. They could be aloof with strangers too. They could also be trained well to be able to attain a pack leader status.

Activity: they needed a lot of exercise and walking and jog for mental motivation. And for them to become more fit and healthy.

Health: No known health issues for this breed.

Grooming: minimal grooming is required for this breed. Just a daily combing of their hair when they are shedding.

Description: Kai Dog breed is a very strong well muscled dog. They are commonly called deerhound. They have a very strong head and pointed muzzle and lips are firm. Their ears are carried high and triangular in shape. Also, their dark brown eyes are shaped triangular. Also, like their ears, their tail are erect and curled up. Their coat is straight and compact but also smooth to touch.

Temperament: This breed is a very alert especially with strangers so they could be a good guard dog to protect their family against suspicious strangers since they are a fearless dog. They are a very clever dog also athletic since they are a very strong well muscled dog. They are born a hunter. But they could also undergo such training to help them behave well and adopt good manners.

Activity: They are required to have a good amount of daily exercise as well as running and walking around to help them boost up their energy and be healthy.

Health: No known health issues with this breed. Life span is 12- 15 years.

Grooming: Their coat should be combed regulary to prevent tangle and bathe them only when necessary.

Irish Water Spaniel

Description: Irish Water Spaniel a ruggedly looking breed but very strong. They are a very hairy dog, body covered with a compact, long and very curly solid liver colored coat. Only their face and tail have short hair. This breed, is just regular in length and rectangular body shape with a proportioned body. Muzzle is squarely built and long. Their long nose goes with their coat color. They have strong jaws and teeth in scissors bite. Their tail is commonly called a rat tail that is thickly covered with curly short hair that looks like its clipped. They are a broad chested breed. They have webbed feet and since they love to swim, this could help them swim well.

Temperament: This is a smart, affectionate and a proud dog. They are a genius type so it is always easy to train them. They are also a very alert dog and often aloof with strangers. So they could be a good watch dog too. Generally, they get along well with other pets as long as they are properly socialized with them. They always enjoy being in water that is why they like to swim they have a good amount of stamina and energy for it. Also, they could even sense if their owner are being so gentle or just being cool to some situations that would lead them to be stubborn. They are also very protective of their own territory but owners should always be on guide and train them to recognize their owner as their leader.

Activity: They are required to have a daily exercise, walking specifically brisk walking also jogging and they always love to swim.

Health: Some Health issues for this breed includes: hypo-thyroidism and eye entropion. Their Life span is about 10-12 years.

Grooming: Brushing them very often is required since their hair has always the tendency to mat. Proper trimming is also necessary. They are not heavy shedder.

Irish Terrier

Description: The Irish Terrier is a very strong muscular breed, and their body is rectangular in shape. When compared to the fox terrier, their body is longer but much more balanced. They have double coat, that is not good in quality but also straight and flat on their skin. Their underwool is red in color and compact. Their eyes are dark brown in color that showing a flaming expression. They too are long legged breed. Their ears should be like attached to their head that is required of them. Especially on dog shows. And their eyebrows are fuzzy with long muzzle. Their jaws are very strong with teeth in scissors bite.

Temperament: The Irish Terrier is a very dedicated dog to its owner. But at times could also be stubborn. They should be guided when playing with children especially those that are active ones. They are very smart too and could be trained with proper discipline and patience. They are required to have socialization training so they could adjust well to the people in their surroundings as well as with other pets. They like to chase on anything and also fund of digging to explore things

Activity: They needed a daily exercise and long brisk walking. And train them to just walk beside their owner and not be the one to lead the way to practice discipline and let them understand that their owner will always be the leader that they should obey.

Health: This breed is a healthy dog and no known hereditary diseases for them. Life span is about 12-15 years.

Grooming: They are not heavy shedder dog so it only requires minimal grooming. Brush them regularly to get dead hair. Bathe them only when needed also, they should be plucked manually at least two times in a year.
